Girlie Men
That's great [clap]
Too bad the two parties are collecting 20% of the profit. Funny, we don't have a budget yet, and in an indirect way, the Dems & Reps are making money off not having one. [thumbd]

20 bucks says osama will magically be 'found' 2 weeks befor the election.

I wouldn't bet against ya on this one, I rather agree.

I dunno what it is, I have a feeling 'something' is going to happen right before the election that really changes how things will go down. Either Osama captured, or something bad happening here..

It's really odd, this election more than any other I can remember, really has folks pissed off at people in the 'other camp' so to speak. I'm glad people are so empassioned for what they believe, it's what makes the US, the US! But is it worse to be 'clouded' by fanatical belief in a 2 party system? Too many 'issues' on the plate for just 2 parties to cover 'all the bases' so to speak. Sometimes the fanaticism for their 'party' is more like a fanatical religous zeal..

We really really need something 'amazing' to happen to shock the world to wake the hell up and get along for once.. I'm thinkin' armageddon or independance day style... [;)]

I don't like how Europe seems to be more 'organized' and more 'free' than the united states at the moment.

There is a comparison report on this somewhere. Damn I wish I could remember where. It’s actually a bit scary for us in the US.

Even more ironic, and very sad, is that the “bad guys” are here, right now, as we speak, waiting to attack, yet we “cannot” catch them. But why is it other countries are continually rounding these people up? This is very strange and very sad but it’s inevitable, we will be hit again because our focus is misguided. I just hope people care enough about their country to take a stand.

Maybe its because other countries are able to profile without the backlash that occurs here. Unfortunately, the bad guys are afforded the same rights as us.

Good point..........profile........I'm out the door so I'll make this quick....lol

Do you really care what profile the government needs for security? If it helps all citizens and non-citizens to be safer, shouldnt we all do our part? I travel a lot, more than the average person, my suitcases are searched, I'm stopped in every metal detector, but who cares......I stand there like a good citizen even when the 300 pound dyke keeps wanting to cop a feel at my expense and others watching....do I say anything, no I put up with this nonsense for national security. Do I care if my name has my parents name, where I work, what age I lost my virginity, whether I smoked a joint or not, who cares......I is who I is......so somebody enlighten me on what the big deal is about profiling......I also have nothing to hide in my car.......If I choose to keep whips and chains, I dont care if the policeman holds them up during the search........are we really afraid to be who we are as individuals......we fear what???

Ok, I got to go.............. [:D]

Very good point about the profiling. I still don’t think we have it all together from a security perspective though. I remember boarding a flight to Miami with a big computer bag. The person operating the machine did not even look at the screen to see what was in the bag; she was too busy taking to a coworker. I don’t know how we could even deal with problems like this thought. I don’t think the people are paid very well and who knows if some of them even care about their jobs. It’s like the video from the morning of 9/11; there was some indication of a problem then.

I don’t mind the extra security and if it were my decision it would be even greater. But I certainly would begin with student Visas and I’m not sure why this has not become more of a focus.

When I was in school we had this group of students that attended the church-founded school. These middle-eastern students were paid 100% tuition reimbursement in the mid-eighties which amounted to 5,700.00 per semester plus living expenses. They received this funding from you and I, the US Taxpayers. And even more ironic is one of the students drove a new Bentley. These students were very open in their intentions to go back home and fully support the P^ L O. Why do we train these intelligent and rich people that only want to do harm? Very good question.

The one thing that I see as a certainty is that we cannot fight the war alone. There are far too many or the bad guys spread all over the world. I remember something about like 1,600 in one South America location.

I agree! But if I were a black man driving a Mercedes in Compton, I might have a different take on the topic.

I'm not so sure what concerns people are the security check points, but the not-so-random pulling over of certain people. People question the underlying assumptions that lead to the profile. It's a fact a greater percentage of blacks commit crime than whites (or at least, are arrested for it), so should they be suspect for simply driving down the street in an expensive car? But then there's the affluent, young, gay, Arab man in the white rental van pulling out of the fertilizer company's lot....hmmmmm. Or how about the good looking, young ex-military blond guy with the rental van driving towards OK City? Hmmmm.
