I agree that everyone should participate if they have something to say...........but some posts have such simplistic views that a response just cannot be made by me. At this time, I wish everyone would quit using the word "all" to describe a view.......this is like me saying all men or you all saying all women......this is such an incorrect usage of the word "all." There is no way any of us can use that word to depict the viewpoints of "all" citizens of the United States or any other country for that matter. For every person you say blasts the US and George W. Bush, I can give you a person who raves about the US and George W. Bush........do you see where I'm going with this.........and this is not directed at you Bryan.
The most important issue in this election...................VOTE.........get out and use your right to VOTE.............dont complain and take a backseat.........VOTE.......but do not dictate to me how I should VOTE and put me down for the reasons that I do VOTE for a particular candidate...........that is my God Given Right and I'll use my own mind to decide how I choose to exercise that right............and please quit using the term "all" to get your viewpoint across..............
How's that Bryan??????
I could not agree more. The party system in my opinion is a mess and used against the voters a lot. For example, the notion that Bush is big business, corporate tied and Kerry is not is preposterous. Kerry actually has/had a slight lead in this segment. Everything has changed; there are no rules. Sure there are stronghold voter bases that are very obvious and statements that are made that do hold some truth (i.e. Republican Nascar dads, NRA hunters and Christian Coalition. And Democrat chain-yourself-to-a-tree fanatically liberal people, ACLU people and the Ivy-league).
Yes, people should vote how they would like to vote and for their own reasons. The party system helps to create an “all” mentality, at least I think so. When in reality there is not a lot of truth to what is dolled out in this two-party system. It’s the famous “egg-shell” theory, when you look inside there really is nothing there.
As for myself, I cannot follow the system. I worked very hard against a Democrat, Dario Herrara; I thought that he was absolutely the worst possible choice for Congress, selecting instead a Republican, Porter. The same is true of our Democrat mayor Goodman, again a very poor choice for the city.
I cannot bring myself to follow the party system. Why would I put Herrara in just to get a Domocrat? By the way he lost by a landslide, making me very happy for a number of reasons including the fact that people were willing to cross party lines when desperately needed.
I could write a book on why I vote the way I do and give lists of reasons why I think Bush must be removed, just like why I think Goodman, a Democrat, needs to go. People should vote how they would like to vote and this should be respected.
