The final pic is of a butiful Porshe.

I was very dissapointed with Porshe at this show, they only had two open models while Mercedes and BMW had them all open. It is as if Porshe thinks they are better thain everyone else and wont let the common man enjoy their cars. It wasnt like they were the super expensive ones, infact there were none of those there. Most of them were around the 90k range. I am only posting the one due to my dissapointment with Porshe. Well anyway, here is the porshe that thinks it is better thain everyone else.

My main camera is a Pentax Optio S. It is a 3mp but they now make it in a 4mp. It is the smallest digital camera with a 3x optical zoom and a 3 or 4mp ccd. It uses an SD card for saving pictures (about the size of a postage stamp) I purchased a 256mb card at costco for $55 and I can get about 250 photo quality pictures on it. It uses a recharagable LI battery wich seems to keep on going, I can get about 150 pics before needing to recharge. I purchased this camera after tons of research, while the quality might not be the best, the size is excelent. It is so small, it fits into an altoids tin. If size is an issue, this one is the best you can buy. Also, you dont loose features with this power shooter, it has everything more expensive cameras have.

Optio S4 (4 MP)

This place does great reviews, tells you all about it. (S)

Yeah, at the NYC Auto Show, Porsche always has just a few cars on display and they always have the doors locked and close the windows. I don't know why Porsche does this...it is definitely annoying, and if Porsche thinks they are better than all the other companies to lock their car doors, I would say they're probably right.

When they do that it raises Porsche to a "mythical" level.... like there is something there that you know excists but you cannot reach it. Its a very attractive thought that might just be ruined when you actually sit in the car and think that it is a just a "car". If you lke the car they want you to experience it on a more personal, one-on-one basis where you can get the real feel of a Porshe..... listen, drive and enjoy the great car... not just sit in it.

Thats their idea [thumb]

But why would Porshe do that, its not like they are trying to keep the cars looking new. They all had scratches on them, why play down to the public. Some of these people there are shopping for a car, they get to sit in them all to see what they like. I spoke to couple who was shopping for a car and was expecting to sit in a Porshe turbo, but couldent. Why should Porshe bother to come to the show when they feel like they are sitting on a throne and are better thain everyone else.

Instead of BMW and Mercedes with an inviorment that makes you want to drive and bring your family, you get the fancy dinnerware attitude, they are to be looked at but never used. That is not a good image for the car company.

I must commend several car companys for having friendly people there, working models, brochures, and a friendly atmosphere. These companys include Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Toyota (including Lexus and Scion, in fact Sicon's brochure was actualy a thick magizine like book including articles on movies, music, and stars as well as cars.) The BMW, Mercedes, and Infiniti sections were the cream of the crop at this years show. GM and Ford (including its sub divisions) were large but empty, not many people there. Ford had drawings every hour for model cars, and had a lot of attention on its Musgang.

I went to the show last night...

...the Anaheim one like CoyotoFreak. I don't know... I seem to be a little disappointed with the current 3. I respect it enormously, however, when I got it, it just didn't feel up to the quality standands that mine has. I know... mine is almost 20 years old and what not, but the build quality of the E46(?) was good, just the feel of it wasn't pleasing to me. The cabrio was a different story, the sedans are what disappointed me.

The Mazda 6 was a HUGE let down to me. Since I am partial to Mazdas as well. All the magazine raves about it, I sat in the car for a couple seconds and I thought... hmm... "It feels very Ford,... oh.. there's a Ford bit there, well that's FLIMSY... "

Although, I do like the new 5er and the X5. I loved the X5, it by far is the most COMFORTABLE suv I've ever been in. My brother's Discovery has nothing on this car. I could fall asleep in seconds if I wanted to. Haha. I found the driving position of the WRX very good, but space was minimal. I thought it was kinda weird that the back seat of the WRX was a lot more pleasing than the back seat of the 330i. Heh...

That SL was phenomenal. I'm not sure if it's because I was looking forward to sitting in the car or what, but $120,000.... well worth it for an SL... although I couldn't afford it with my life. The C Class sedan has better space, IMO, than the 330i, but quality was definatly much more poorer than the 3. I'd most likely get a 330i anyway, but sitting in the C-Class gave me that extra push. The ML has the most ergonomically odd driving position/envirionment I'd ever experienced. The backseats were a little too deep and one touch of the cupholder and it broke. Oh Daimler-Chrysler what have you done?

Honda's were just a bore, so were the Acura's... the MDX had much better build quality than the ML, and more pleasing cabin aesthetics. The Infiniti M45 was the most comfortable sedan out of the whole show. The driving position was perfect, the rear seat was cavernous and I had nothing to gripe about it. Ok, maybe the angle of the steering wheel was a little off but after driving a BMW for a while, with the angled wheel, he other steering wheels feel odd.

Volvo's S60R was a joy. If you don't put the backseat into account, there's loads of space and the gear-shifter was cool to look at and play with. Clutch feel was nice on it too. All in all, I liked this years show, I'm looking forward to the LA on in Jan. But eh, I was just dissapointed with some cars. It's like WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Haha...

...ok no more meaningless opinions from me. Now you have throw your rocks and spears, whatever you have for me after this...

Heh...

[rofl]
