I hope you do realize that if you applied the ammount of turbo boost you have in your car to almost ANY BMW it would kill your car.

The only reason your car is fast is because it's poorly made. What I am saying is that because of the laxed standards and lack of tuning that went into your car Mitsubishi can sell them for a cheap price. Then you can buy this peice of shit and have enough left over for a turbo or whatever else you want to throw into it.

The fact is that without the boost you couldn't beat any ///M car. Turbocharging a car is a great way to add horsepower and I would turbo my e36 if I had enough money. But you can't compare a turbo car to a non-turbo car. It's obvious yours is faster than a stock car. If you put a big enough turbocharger in a minivan it will be able to beat a lot of the cars on the road.

If I wanted to I could have bought some shitty import and put a turbo and everything else into it. But I chose to get a BMW because of the superior build quality and the way it drives.

BTM3, are you the guy from that video??? Eclipse vs M3 Coupe, where the Eclipse engine blows up (to put it simply) in the middle of the race and the guy has to pull to the side?? There were two guys in the Eclipse, the guy in the passenger side had a camera and held it down low so the M3 driver wouldn't see it (and wouldn't get scared)....was that you???????

This guy is just too much. [rofl] Just be glad we all have some common sense. It would suck to go through life hating what you will never have and knowing that you need to settle for much less. In a way you need to feel for this guy, it's very sad in a way.

Just because a car can beat another at a track does not make it a great car. ever see the video of the turbocharged caravan?? It ate many cars at the track...but its still a piece of crap car.

HAHAHAAAHAHA! That's the best video ever! I was laughing my ass off when I saw that.

"Your M3 is slow." The guy was in like a collared shit and tie, he was definately not even trying to race the kid.

Here's a question for him... Have you EVER driven a BMW? I have driven a few bmw's and MANY Mitsubishi's!!!! Eclipse GS, Eclipse GSX, Laser, 3000GT VR4, 3000GT SL, and a turbocharged galant. They all had a decent amount of power (especially the 3000GT VR4), but none of them (which were all 92 models and up) could compare to the BMW's I've driven, including the 525i, not nearly as fast as some of the mitsubishis, but the build quality was MUCH better.

Also handling. You could die in some of those pieces of sh!t. Look at the pictues, those cars are not even maintained! [???1] [:o)] [8] [confused] There is more than adding a bunch of cheap crap like this guy does. There is more than just speed. I still don't think he can beat an M3. Has he ever even changes the struts?

Exactly when was the last time Mitsu won an F1 race¿¿ Oh, that's right, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE A TEAM!!!! Actually when was the last time the Mitsu won any kind of real race¿ You are completely comparing apples to oranges. You are telling me that a Starion will even compete with an M class¿ You take your car, and throw the same modifications on an M3 and tell me who would win sucker!

First let me say I did not come here to start a flame war... I like all sorts of cars & from what I know of BMW's they are excellent cars. I just wanted to clarify on a couple of things from these posts. The Starion/Conquest is factory turbo charged with a front mount intercooler, four wheel independent suspension, four wheel disc brakes with rear anti-lock, 8 way adjustable struts and would do .887 g's on the skid pad back in the late 80's all stock . This car is very at home on a race track. When the car was new Mitsubishi did have a race team and the Starion dominated SCCA Showroom Stock Endurance racing from 1984 trough 1988, taking home more first place finishes than all other teams combined in 1986-87. This series consisted of taking a bone stock car straight from the dealer and putting a few safety items on, then taking it straight to the track. The Starion still holds the Sears Point SCCA SSA full course lap record. It also holds a lap record (87 Starion) at Riverside Raceway, which still stands today for SCCA SSA.The Starion program was dropped at the end of 1988 for the new Mitsubishi Eclipse program. Soon after the Eclipse program began, Mitsubishi cut it's race programs due to funding issues.
I'm sure you guys probaly wouldn't even so much as recognize a Starion/Conquest without a picture so I thought I would enlighten you a little so you might ease up on the cars.. This car also cost over $ 21,000 way back in '89 - it wasn't just a "cheap" econo-box import, it was Mitsu's flagship.
Anyway, no offense .. just wanted to set the facts straight.

I do recognize it, i almost got a chance to drive one, and it had a lot of power. Before I got into BMW's, I wanted an eclipse GSX beucase I knew they were very tuneable. But I realized that there is more to a car than just how fast it goes. The realiability and quality of the BMW's is what attracted me, and the fact that they do very well in the twisties -- my favorite road - didnt hurt. The eclipse was okay on the back roads but not nearly as stable as the bmw (this is a 1991 eclipse GSX, with a completely rebuilt engine and 16g turbo, and I know he put about 800 into the suspension.)

The brakes on the bmw are also far far FAR superior to any eclipse or mitsubishi I have ever driven.

I do still respect the 3000GT Vr4. That car is a torque monster and impresses me, but thinking more practically (but still with the 'fun factor' in mind) a bmw is the better choice.

Any M car will rape any turbocharged ricer in a REAL race. Those dumbass straight-line races don't mean shit when it comes to actual performance. I guarantee you that if you get an M3 and put it up against whatever the hell that Mitsubishi on that guy's website was, and put them in a full-length race the M3 would absolutely kill it. I doubt the Mistubishi would even last to see the end of the race. I've raced Mustang GTs which have 40 more HP than my car, and weigh a lot less because they're made out of cheap plastic and whatnot, and I killed it. Miserably. I bet the guy was kicking himself in the nuts when he got home that night, but hey, that's what you get for buying a Mustang. Of course more power is good, but cheap power that you get from aftermarket parts that cost $200 from Pep Boys won't do you much good in a real race. To have a fast car, you either buy it fast (BMW[|)]), or to make it even faster you do some REAL tuning, which costs no less than $15,000 and is probably illegal in over 95% of this country.

You probabally will call me a troll for this but remember you guys are the one the went searching for his website and then started talking crap

Lets see your 2003 $60+K stock car is faster then a 1988 20k(when new) Mitsubishi. NO Kidding[rolleyes]

But you know its not as hard as you think to cleanly mod a Starion, which BTW has almost ZERO aftermarket support not like the shitty DSM which has all kind of rice parts for it, to be faster and handle better then an M3. And you know what a big part of racing is the driver

Ok yeah your cars may have a better build quality but you know what they also cost $10K-$20K or more, not everyone can afford that kind of car and infact not everyone wants a BMW. So stop being so full of yourselves get off your high horse and admit that there are better and faster cars out there then the BMW i can think of a lot of cars that i would rather have then a BMW and a lot of better cars but you guessed it they cost more then a BMW.

There are others that are cheaper then the BMW too namly the G35 hmmm let me think $40+k 260hp 330Ci with less options then a $33k G35 with 280 hp better balance and better handeling.

i know everything i have said is falling of deaf ears or in this case everything i have typed wont be read so i will stop now see you later[wave]
