I agree. I wear it all the time. If people get in my car and don't put it on, I won't go anywhere. It's not b/c I dont want them to get hurt (hell, if you're stupid enough not to wear one, then I could care less if you get hurt), But b/c i could be sued if a passenger is hurt in my car and they aren't wearing a seatbelt.

Sidenote: Waht the hell was that video about. Why was their a camera in the car? Was it some sort of test?

to those that replied to my uncle comment, the others were thrown from the car, and the multiple rollovers were the cause of his injuries.
granted he might have been killed if thrown from the car but i am happy he is still alive today because he is happy and slightly healty....
like i said, i wear it most of the time and sure to have it in higher risk times... yet still, it annoys me that people dont start the car until everyone has fastened seatbelts or tries to sway me by stories of other tragic events. go away.

Why is it stupid to require people who are YOUR responsibility to wear a restraint that will almost DEFINITELY keep them from death in almost all crashes?

If a passenger in my car said there was NO way they would wear their seatbelts, I wouldn't move the car at all. Can you imagine if you had a passenger who isnt paying attention to the road like YOU are, you slam on the brakes.

First, your reaction is to tighten up your arms, as to not fall 'into' the steering wheel. They arent wearing a seatbelt or watching, most likely their hands are on their lap or to the side of them. What will happen to them? They'll smack right into the dash, especially with how fast a bmw (and almost any car for that matter) can stop just using the brakes.

I can not believe there are still people who do not wear their seat belt. Sure it's not the most comfortable thing all the time (which it is very easy TO make it comfortable!), but just deal with it. Are you people too "*****" to wear it? It's uncomfortable? It's annoying? Etc.? I put up with it!! Always have, always will, and most people do.

When people are in our cars, we have the right to control the functions of every passenger in the car, as well as ourselves. When Wil is in his car with no passengers, it also is a personal choice that only he can make. I agree that all the horror stories will not make a person change his/her opinion, just like smoking stories will not make a person choose to quit smoking. I prefer that the person make the decision out of knowledge, welfare of themselves and others........and that Will will change his mind and start wearing his seatbelt at all times because we asked him to and that we care that he is safe.

My older brother was with 4 of his friends driving back here to Cali from Colorado. They were hit by a drunk driver drving on the wrong side of the road...

...out of the 5 in the car, my older brother was the only one who survived. He was the only one wearing a seatbelt... [:(]

I admit I haven't been so concious about them in the past - I had a car that had those god awful automatic belts...

...but since that my brother's accident I never even thought about it, it was just always on.

Last night, a girl in my school was driving and she hit a patch of black ice, slid sideways, overcorrected and flipped a few times into a tree. She was thrown out of the car when it flipped (because she wasnt wearing her seat belt) and she died about a half hour later. I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. NO exceptions!! People say "im not going to have an accident" Thats WHY its called an accident.(as stated above) "ok im going to hit a tree in 4.3 seconds, time to buckle up" its bullshit.

when i used to drive a mercedes 380SEC, i wore my seatbelt everytime! It was so cool, you sit, close door, start engine, and the car would literally hand you the belt - was soo convenient, plus sort of a hastle because the belt was in your face, so to get rid of it, you would have to click it.

I remember when I was a kid I'd always watch those cars just to see the belts pop out. I thought it was a coolest thing since sliced bread. Haha....

This is Darwinism at it's finest. If you are stupid enough to not wear your seatbelt, and you die because of a result of that, then it is at the very least survival of the fittest. If you get in my car, and don't want to put it on, you might as well walk because the car won't move until it is put on.That is the first damn thing that gets done. Sit. Put on seatbelt. Start car. Turn on any "appliances". Drive

Oh, trust me, I love the way the belt hits your neck now and then making it uncomfortable. I love the way it locks up under light braking, etc. But it's just something I put up with for the few minutes I'm usually in the car. I honestly can not believe your excuse went from that it "paralized your grandfather" (Which it very well could have -- but most likely it saved his life too), to it being "too uncomfortable" and "Inconvenient"

I'm not calling you stupid or anything, but toughen up a bit!! Once you get into an accident (notice i didnt say IF you get into an accident...) you'll be f'in glad you had your seatbelt on, becuase if you didn't you'd be in a world of pain, or maybe you'd be happier if the people who care about you have to deal with loosing you due to an auto accident. So they could see your name in the paper and say "..wasn't wearing a seatbelt"

Atleast you can become another statistic!!

I think enough has been said, the message has been clearly presented.
Let's just let this discussion end coz' we are beginning to get on one another's nerves.
Every individual has their own views and preferences, we just stick to our own.

GUYS I HAVE A SEATBELT QUESTION FOR YA !!!!!
I have two younger bros, one is 18 and the other is 8. Whenever my bros get in my car, they all wear their seatbelts. We have a rule that whoever is driving (not the little bro, of course), we always wear our seatbelts. And when I'm by myself, I ALWAYS wwear my seat belt. But can you believe this !!!!! The seat belts of my car are absolutely horrible !! Every time I get in my car and put it in, I have to reach so far around the corner, it is such a struggle just to access it. And then I get it and put it on and one minute later I am pulling and tugging and twisting this belt around, trying to get it comfortable. I loosen and it slowly pulls taught, the strap goes around my neck and pulls gently there and it annoys the hell outta me and it pulls at my waste too. I am always adjusting this seatbelt, and I swear to God it's gonna be the end of me !!!! It's like Infiniti is PUNISHING me for wearing my seat belt yet if I don't have it on, a little red light comes on telling me to where it...WHAT DO I DO??? [:(]

It's been a while since I've been in a coupe so I can't remember, but do you have a large lever on the side of your chair to pull to access the rear seat? I remember it being electronic, but still having to do something. It's a LONG reach for me too. Just an inherent disadvantage of a coupe when you're sorta short. What I do (if I remember) is as I unbuckle, I make sure the belt catches onto that lever on the side of my seat cushion. That way, the next time I need to use it, it's only about as far as it would be on a sedan. You only have 2 brothers right, just make whoever's in the back sit behind the passenger seat.
