There is a fairly comprehensive confidentiality agreement involved in the adoption but it is a situation that is surprisingly typical.
There are some mothers that decide they do not want the child or children and a method they use, based upon information I have gathered from various doctors and professionals, is very heavy doses of illegal drugs. I guess this can be a method used by mothers to rid them of the birth and is more common than I would ever want to believe. Fortunately, many of these children can live normal lives provided that alcohol was not present as well and there is immediate medical attention. There are so many children born under these circumstances that it is hard to even comprehend.
Ours were born under very bad circumstances and had a combined birth weight of 4 pounds. But they have been doing very well.
I am very happy to hear that he is doing better. Maybe someday I can meet the little rugrat. I was reading a paper in the CDC's MMWR about how there is a vast shortness of vaccine for the elderly and children because people between the ages of 14-40 are all getting the shot in a panic. People don't realize that in that age bracket, unless you are immuno-compromised, or if you are in the health profession, you don't need the shot. I must commend you for doing what you did, and most likely saving your sons life. I am of the firm belief that you are an outstanding father, and those children are lucky to be in you care. Which hospital did they take him to¿
