I'm pretty sure that this entire story and entire thread is based on one conversation. Just look at your title and it is clear that you are only talking about that one remark, which is completely the opposite of what you are saying now...

Also, I do not know how Hitler came into this and I do not understand what you could possibly have meant by your statement so I am not even going to go into that.

Ok, so if the guy is mocking Chinese, again, who cares? The fact that he would do that only makes him look like an idiot. Again, I am of Irish, British and German descent. Why is me being Irish and different that her being Chinese. I really do not understand why certain ethnicities are protected against ANY kind of insensitive remark or even a joke while others have no immunity to the same kind of slander.
No, I have a problem with his whole conversation. HE initiated teh conversation with her. It was all just to get to her to acknowledge her race so he could openly mock it. It wasn't just the fake Chinese gibberish or simply the not knowing China was a country. The whole conversation was the offensive part.

The Hitler thing was an attempt by me to use an outrageous analogy to show how Push's logic doesn't work. You can't just take one phrase/sentence out of context to show how innocuous it is just like you can't break down Hitler's genocide of the Jews into individual murders to make him less evil. Taken as a whole, Singer's entire conversation was an attempt by him to mock her.

And I care that he's mocking Chinese. It wasn't a joke gone bad like Fuzzy Zoeler's fried chicken and collared greens remark. I thought that was offensive, but wasn't totally pissed. This dude went up intentionally trying to denegrate her. If someone mocks your Irish ethnicity, go ahead and tee off like I'm doing. If they mock your British and German ancestry, tee off too.
