Funny TireRack Mistake

Actually some friends were over last night and one of them had to do Henna art at a birthday party tomorrow (it's this one colored ink that you draw something on your body and it dries off and lasts for 7 to 12 days). Anyways, she wanted some practice before the birthday party so I offered her my arm....I got the "///M" logo, it came out really hot !!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
But my other arm has a bunny on it. [8)]

Well I was once debating to actually get an "///M" tattoo - a full out real one and this was a nice test, hahaha.
In all seriousness though, I think the first time I talked about the tires, I commented on how they ride smoother than the Pilot Sports and feel a bit squishier in the turns, but they have great grip. When picking up my car, I told the guy I wanted 36psi in each tire and he did it in front of my face, but a week later (yesterday) I checked the pressures and they were only at 30psi! Anyways, I jacked it up to 36psi per tire according to my trusty analog gauge and it is completely different now.
The ride is very rough now, which I don't mind, but is worth noting. But with the rough ride came noticeably better stiffness through the turns....less roll, and I can take my everyday turns much faster now...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great to know the tires are working well, i was meaning to ask you whether you were having the same concerns over them as you did in the beginning. I personally would also sacrifice a bit of smoothness for a stiffer setup, gotta keep the car handling tight at all times

I know what you mean- I just got the KDW2's myself on my Z3 coupe and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me for the first few days!!! I think part of it is because the KDW2's have a far more 'rounded' shoulder profile than the Pilot sports (which are almost square), and my Pilot Sports were basically bald. In any case, I'm getting used to it now, but the staggered set up on the Z3 still makes them look a bit big in the front...
I don't know what you think, but I love the tread design and the handling is light years beyond the Pilot sports. Turn in response isn't quite as crisp as the Michelins, but I was shocked to see I was comfortably going 80+ halfway through a long sweeper off a highway. Could never take that exit that fast with the Pilot Sports. I haven't noticed the road noise everyone talks about, but my michelins were so cupped due to the setup on the Z3 coupe that my snows were actually quieter.

mclarensmps, I will take handling over ride comfort any day...the G35C already rides hard as hell anyways (big 18" wheels take the bumps so poorly) so I just wanted tires that offer maximum performance and the KDW2's have been delivering that 110%.
M Speed, I think I officially do have the first redneck G35. The thicker look of the profile isn't something anybody would notice (including the average G35 owner) but I definitely saw it as soon as I first walked to my car with the new tires on, and I can still tell the difference. Fortunately, the look has grown on me and I am really happy overall.
Zee3Coupe, I'm glad you like your tires. What do you think of the rain traction? It was just raining here for over a week straight in NJ and I like the rain traction a lot overall (not as much hydroplaning, good predictability, good overall traction), but I feel like I am able to break traction in the rear more easily than in the Pilot Sports.

I've been really impressed by the rain traction- the tires seem to cut through puddles on the highway and they don't seem to slip at all in the street. Last week was miserable in Boston, giving me plenty of opportunities to try them out. I couldn't believe it in the first few puddles, so I actually went out seeking some more. Probably not the safest thing to do....
The Z3 has such a tendency to swap ends that I usually leave the traction control off unless I'm in a somewhat controllable/pretictable environment. I haven't tried to go tail out with the KDW2's yet, but I'll let you know when I do.
