Evidence suggests that people who drink beer regularly and in responsible amounts are substantially healthier. A study supported by the Canadian government said people who consume one or two drinks a day are healthier than non-drinkers.
Enough evidence for me!

"Yes, sir, it's for my HEALTH" [rofl] dont think he'd buy it [hihi]

Though it's all written by a news reporter... so someone could've said "beer will make your skin clearer" and the reporter will report it's better for your health. Either way - I won't stop drinking it [paranoid]

"and as relaxants that would relieve depression, reduce tension, and enable hardworking laborers to enjoy a moment of happy, frivolous camaraderie."

I've always thought it was funny how people love to drink beer and sing it's praises but yet say they're different from people who use other drugs. Food for thought.

Damn Straight! I can't say much for the illegal drugs since I've never tried 'em (and will keep it that way)..... except I know marijuana has never caused a fatality due to over dosing and that legalizing it will do nothing but help the economy and probably cause high-and-driving accidents.

Most "high" people don't have the desire to drive.......not that I would know

I understand what you are saying.

I'm neutral to legalizing weed for the reason you cite EXCEPT for one thing. It's illegal to drive drunk, so it must also be illegal to drive stoned. But I don't think there is a rapid screening test for weed, like the breathalyzer test for alcohol.

The other difference that I see - most hard drugs alter the mind to the point that an addict will commit serious and violent crimes to support the addiction. That doesn't usually happen with alcohol and weed.

Besides the logic that says if booze is legal why not weed? Using that line of thought why not meth, coke, etc? Marijuana has so many unknown properties and componets that we have no idea what its total effects might be. I know some users who fail to perform to their potential, and could care less about their life as long as they have that next joint to smoke. Ok so there are alcoholics like that too, takes us back to why add another componet to lifes ills? Look at some of the countries that have legalize drugs...ugh, nasty parks filled with users and needles. Ok I am off my soap box.

It amazes me how some people can let a wild plant, dried and smoked contro their lives...I guess just like the guy who lets barley and hops run his...too bad!

Because a free country can't call itself free unless it stops telling us what we can put in our bodies (to an extent; Hard mind-altering drugs SHOULDN'T be legal). People call weed a gateway drug but I know TONS of people who smoke weed, and they are very smart, decent people and would NEVER touch another drug. I don't smoke weed, never tried it, and never WILL - legal or not, but it's not a mind or life altering drug when used in moderation.

Anyone ever see the show "Penn and teller's bullshit" when they talked about drugs?

Seems like a contradiction, it is NOT a FREE country, working people pay for social programs for brain dead drug and alcohol users. I see no sense in adding another harmful substance to the legal list.

Wine belly? [rofl]

Big daddy - why do you think everyone who uses weed will need to go on a government supported program? Unlike alcohol, marijuana will totally stop giving a person that high and they will switch to harder drugs. But being legal or not that will happen. If it's legal they could charge a tax on it to pay for those programs.

I do not want to debate this marijuana thing its ignorrant, but you have to quit misquoting me, where did I say what you ask above? Reread your post where you ask this and you will find the answer to your own questions about why it should not be legalized.
