The nice car bad driver is pretty rare. To be honest, if I see one, it's usually a BMW driver being an a$$. Otherwise, it's teenage testosterone cars like the Mustang and Camaro or Civic or something like that being an a$$

I just made a 2 hour drive yesterday staying between 90-100 the entire trip. It just feels so darned comfortable and confident that driving 65 just seems so SLOW. However, I have just 6 months to go till my last ticket is off my record so I need to try to force myself to slow down.

Hey SoonerE39,
What happened to you, were you reborn??? You lost all your post counts and you're now a rookie!?
I don't know? I asked Tom about that in another thread. I hadn't posted here in a long time and when I came back, my user name was gone. Oh well, post count isn't that important to me anyway. Besides, you know I never have anything important to say. [confused]

I use this screen name on many sites, some of them not even automotively related. ANd yes, I am over 3000 posts on the site you are referring to and about 1300 posts on another one. I think this site has my 3rd highest post count but I think it will be moving up in the next few months.

I think im deserving of my bimmer. Even though i bought it for a dollar, i would have paid more if i had to.

-On a driving aspect, i take after my father (german), riding to school as a kid with him everyday... learning all the german driving skills - (you would have to have seen germans drive to get what im talking about.)

-I drive ...slower than usual due to my high number of tickets and how my job depends on me having a liscense! scarry.

-And lastly, no better way to describe my personality and background, than with the beautiful E30 that i drive!!! yeah, id say i am deserving of my car ...

Being an Ex-LS1 Camaro owner, I never wasted my time on cars that were way out of there league. I saved the smack talk for the track.[;)]

Most of the people I see driving like idiots, Honda owners with a fart pipe and big wing, lots of stickers, not many German cars driving like nuts....well, there are exceptions, some with pretty old 3 series and some old 924.....but rare. The idiots really depend on the driver, not the car in my opinion. I see SUV owners that drive like idiots most often. Alot on cell phones while they do it.[eek]

So what you guys are saying is that you guys don't drive aggressively? What a waste of a great car. I find myself having much more fun driving agressively than tailgating an old grandma on other cars I drove. Call me another one of your a$$es but I do not drive to be one I drive like that because it feels good and I am having fun.

Personally I hate seeing SL500's being driven by women who never break 4000RPM. BMW are meant to be driven and this is what I do.

[slap] what a stereotype..........many customers drive my car like a Volvo and they are all male.......many males are driving SUV's like a school bus........driving aggressively is different than driving like a maniac.......[fake]

I agree with Guessgirl96's comments above (I assume it's Push). If we are fortunate enough to own a good driving machine, we should use it to its full potential. Why would I pay more to buy a 540i if I'm gonna be cruising all the time, I could have saved a bundle with a 528i.

If only cops do not exist, I would be driving aggressive everytime I get on the road. BUT...agressive driving is different from Inconsiderate driving. When I drive aggressive, it's fast, swift and I give enough room when passing and switching in and out of lanes. I do not just squeeze in suddenly infront of another car for example.

A good time to drive aggressive and safe, is on the Interstate with 3 or 4 lanes, and you have trucks, grandmas, wannabes...all spread out in all lanes. This is where you could use good power to pass thru' them all from lane to lane...and it's FUN!!! (until the cops stop you!)

Well, I feel that whatever car you buy/lease, you get it for yourself and you can use it however the hell you want. Sure, it makes no sense to get a 911 Turbo if you're gonna drive around like a grandma, but it's your loot, and if driving around like grandma in your 911 Turbo makes you happy, then go for it.

not slagging off the us but in general most americian drivers (even enthuasts) don't really brake the 120Mph mark on a regular basis. whats the point of having a car that does 155 is you don't use it???

Some people want to keep their license. [:I]

Usually "fast" cars are usually "quick" cars. Even though you might never pop the car's cherry with 155MPH you can enjoy its acceleration that is responsible for making the speed possible. [thumb]

I hate when you see rich people buy themselves a $60,000 dollar BMW. And you can tell that they never wash it, never take care of it, nothing!!!! And on top of that, they drive way too slow!!!

Bryan-good call (and I haven't gone to second page yet).
I live in S.E. CT. There are SO many nice cars here that you ALMOST take them for granted.
You know what you have, and you know what it can do. Do it smoothly, let the idiots make the mistakes, nothing to prove.
That said... I never rev higher than 4500 (318I) THAT said.... I had to move into traffic in a hurry, hit 5000, then second gear at 5000 again-I liked it! My Brother (P.O.) said I should do it more often! Blow carbon out! Is this true about carbon/ revs?
I feel like I'm beating on the car at higher revs!!!!!!!!
Any thoughts here?

Just my 2 cents:
I'm not 17 years old anymore and have nothing to prove.
I've been the first person on the scene of a deadly accident, it's not pretty.
I don't deserve my BMW-I could be broke and driving a TAURUS, or riding the bus, it's a great car and I look for it to deserve ME.
Straight line speed doesn't impress me. I suspect a lot of quality auto buyers like the comfort, little perks, and the fun you can have on the twisty back roads. Maybe it's just me.
If you are on my ass while I pass 2 cars on the interstate and flash me I will either continue until I can safely move over, or stab my brakes-your call.
I have been driving for over 30 years and haven't been pulled over yet-and ALWAYS drive 10 miles over speed limit, I just wait for a faster car to get ahead of me. I'm not saying fast is great, 65MPH just seems too slow, You have to consider traffic flow. 80 MPH is fine-I love it, 100 is TOO fast, just not worth getting stopped at.
I would rather get a speeding ticket for driving fast on a "fun" back road. (I know-not responsible-bikers, joggers, etc.-but I DO pay attention!)
Bottom line-I love my car, and know how to drive it-I assume others know what a BMW is capable of-nothing to prove!
I'm rambling, it's late,
Wish ALL a good New Year!!!!! (2004....remember the 1900's??? Sounds old doesn't it?)
