I heard Southerners conduct business slowly and that they're not used to the fast pace of NYC. And that they all stop working at like 4PM to go play golf. Any Southerners wanna give me a more accurate view on this?
We do everything slower down here, cause it's so damn hot!
Step outside for 1 minute and just stand in place, you will bead with sweat.. Bring your oxygen tanks and scuba gear with you to the south in Summer.
Seriously, I'm pretty sure that's why you guys and gals walk so quick - to get the heck outta the cold! That's how we spot northerner's in downtown Atlanta, they almost look like they are sprinting. (and look like they just jumped into a pool)
Now the train rides.. I think our trains are more menacing at times than NY's, and I have ridden a few tunnels up there. I had fun when I visited NY, I caught the city during it's clean season (Christmas), and it was snowing. Good times.
Stopping work at 4pm sounds like any business man in a position to do whatever he wants. The other 99.5% of us work the same dreary days you do.
MrE - I'm a transplanted yankee of sorts. My family (Dad and Mom's side) are both from NJ; Paterson to be precise (before it turned to crap). We moved to Fla when I was 2, I moved to the ATL when I was 25 ('97) so I'm like a undercover of sorts.. See, I had to discover sweet tea on my own, because it was not to be found in my household..
