Why does ford make better cars in the UK than the US?!??!

the ford puma was supposively the top gear (bbc's car show) car of the year a few years ago. Now, why does ford make decent quality cars in the UK but not in the US?!?

i think ford payd enough to rate the car. in germany ford has a bad quality reputation too.... i wonder how they could have made it to that title

I think ford is crap all the way around why so you the police is moving into chevy's because if you are in a ford crown vic and hit in the rear you blow up

and that show prob got some big bucks from ford to do that

I tihnk they are the same cars but UK standards for an OK car is probably lower so they do better on a chart.
