Your GPA only proves you "school" well. It has NO relation to your intelligence.

That's my $0.02
agreed, grades are for chumps. at least in highschool.

4.0 so far in PhD program

Wow, ours are very similar. My 2.1 high school was a round up, I think it was more like 2.07???? [rofl] I got a B in a grad. class, it was so unfair because the instructor was an @@s. He did quit teaching because of my complaints as well as others, but I still ended up with a B. [?|]

Wierd, shows that high school grades don't mean much. College means a bit more. How'd you fair on the SAT? I think I was 1430, did a little better in verbal than math.

I cannot remember. I need to look back and see it I can find the results. I agree, high school is nothing like college and I don't think high school can be an absolute gauge of college success. We are proof of that. [:D]

I don't know how all that 0 to 4.0 works in US but here in Canada we go by percent on a good semester I get about 80-88% on a bad semester I can get 70-75% lol I just hope that is good enough for a university, otherwise I would have to become a street racer to make a living[fake]

F = 0
D = 1
C = 2
B = 3
A = 4

Typically

A = 90 - 100%
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 -79
D = 60 - 70
F = -59

But farther along in school you get, the more subjective grades become. Lately it's been a matter of agree with the professor, or make a really good descenting argument, but the nature of Theoretical Physics is debative.

3.4 in high school. 3.19 or so was my "UC GPA" where they don't count lots of stupid classes like PE and Band. Not bad considering I was never awake in class.

3.4 or so in college.

2.7 in grad school. I never did get how to do well on those essay exams.

1440 on the SAT
163 on the LSAT
will find out in a little over a month how I did on the CA Bar

Guys, Just to make it clear... the term "Genius" means top-of-the-line mental ability, like 1600 SAT scores. I do not think that 4/7 of you out there fit in this category.

1600 doesn't equate to genius in my book either. Several of my friends got 1590s. One got a 1600. Ok, the 1600 guy was a genius, but he was way smarter than the 1590 people who are way smarter than me.

I guess it all depends on your reference point. I went to a nerd high school so maybe my definition of genius is far beyond what other people consider to be genius.
