I'm headed off to see Pearl Jam in a few hours. They are playing locally as part of the Democratic/Kerry Vote for Change tour. Dave Mathews, Springsteen, John Mellencamp, a few others are all in the state this weekend.

I am going ONLY because I want to see the band and I had an inside track for PREMO seats (about 15 feet from the stage!), not because I specifically do or don't support the Demo party and Kerry.

Pearl Jam is not going to influence one iota how I vote, I'm waiting to see the Domestic debate before I make up my mind. But it will be interesting to see how political it really gets on the stage, and if it really has an impact on voter opinion.

I think they are headed to a bunch of states between now and the election. Anyone else headed to any of these concerts?

Just got back from the concert. It was interesting and surprising. I expected a heavy political slant towards Kerry. To the contrary, Eddie Vedder talked politics, but very philosophically and pretty much non-partisan. He encouraged everyone to register to vote, and to make a decision and make a difference, but not once did he push any particular political beliefs. Regardless of the politics, Pearl Jam is awsome!

On the other hand, the opening band, Death Cab for Cutie, had some pretty strong political statements.

Glad you had a good time. I enjoy good movies and even though most of the actors are Kerry supporters, I go to see the movie. If they start with politics as part of the preview, regardless of who they slant towards, I will quit going.
