I have Grado 60s. Those and the 80s are nice because supposedly they don't need headphone amps to sound really good. However, the much nicer ones like the Grado SR-125 or Sennheiser HD600s need headphone amps to really show their true capabilities. The sound you get from these high end headphones often surpass speaker setups that cost thousands. It's basically a cheap way to get the sound of a $10,000 home theater system.

That's awesome! I must stay away though, stuff like this can become an addiction. [:p]
Yes. Bad, bad stuff. Unless you're filthy rich, you gotta just pick a couple of hobbies to get into, especially if they're expensive hobbies like cars or hi-fi equipment. I refuse to get anything higher than my headphones cuz I know that before I know it, I'm gonna be holding a $1000 pair of headphones in my hand. I still remember the struggle I went through to resist buying a $300 pair of ear buds.

Ahhh yup, that's exactly how it goes. My first set of speakers were some crappy old Panasonics, now I'm on a pair of 15" Technics. Who knows what will be next, whatever it is will be quite expensive that's for sure. [hihi]
