Yeah, I got bored one night and thought up a random story, read it if you want. Tell me what you think.
...Running...
She's awoken from her sleep. In such a way that it seemed like a violent force has provoked such an action. All of a sudden Helena is darting out of bed and running for the door. Still not grasping thoughts as to why she is randomly performing all these tasks, she grabs her coat, shoes and house keys and starts to run out into that foggy night. Why is she out on the streets? Why did she wake up so suddenly? Where is she running to?
Those questions were beyond her reach. All she knew was something, some sort of force was pulling her. Whatever it was, it was causing her to run aimlessly into that eerie night. She ran for about 5 miles into the trees that surrounded her mountain neighborhood. Then she stopped. No more running, no more motivation to go anywhere. Taking rest on a huge boulder she pondered her reasons for being where she was. She looked around trying to find a clue, some sort of familiarity that would explain the numerous questions of 'why' and 'where'.
Then she saw it. The reason her running brought here there; an explanation for all this current oddity. Deep into those tall sequoia trees close to river she saw two people. At first glance, it looked like they were a couple trying to find a quiet spot for relations. But that did not seem like valid reasoning. So a closer look was taken. As it turns out, the man is pulling this girl along with him towards the river. Constantly struggling, this girl is trying to break free from his deathly grip on her wrists. He throws the girl onto the rocks and before the girl could let out a scream the man shoot her 2 times with his shotgun. Witnessing such a horrid cold-blooded murder, Helena lets out a scream, looks back towards the river and sees that the murderer has vanished. Her initial thought is that she's next.
And off she goes, running. In an almost sprint like fashion, Helena now fears for her life. Is she next? Is she to be the next woman killed by the river? This time rather than following the mountain road, she cuts through the trees. Jumping boulders and downed tree trunks, and then?
"CRACK!"
She trips on a huge branch and her foot becomes stuck. Desperately, nudging and tugging at her foot, Helena tried to free herself. When she finally breaks free, she gets up and turns around. The murderer is right there, face to face with her. Before she even has time to gather thoughts and run away, she's knocked out. Helena awakens hours later while over the shoulder of the murderer. Ankles and wrists bound together with rope she finds that she is helpless and starts screams and shaking herself vigorously. The murderer loses grip of her and Helena falls to the ground. The guy tries to quickly reload shotgun, but before he can get the shot, she kicks up her bounded legs and the shotgun is lost into the dark forest. She lets out another kick and trips him causing him to fall and break his neck. Instantly dead, she is relieved from his threat upon her.
But now she's stuck. Tied up and no one out there to help her. She lets out a cry, a scream. "HELP!" she exclaims to no response. She tries again and again, until she grows tired and passes out. By now it is morning and she awakens to noise nearby. As if someone was walking through the brush in search for something or someone. "HELP ME! I'm over here" Helena yelps with every ounce of strength she has. Still, there is no response. The hustling of the branches and leaves get closer, it was then that Helena realizes that the noise is not coming from a person, it is coming from a bear; an enormous grizzly bear in search of food. Horrifyingly terrified Helena screams and yells knowing this is her end. The bear approaches Helena and the murderer's lifeless body next to her. She is about to be mauled. The bear does his stance when it's about to make an attack takes its paw as it is about to strike Helena when she rises from her sleep in her very own bed. "It was a dream," she says taking a sigh of relief, "It was all a blood-curdling dream."
Dazed by the dream she had just experienced, she walks into the kitchen of her little cabin, sets the coffee pot and turns on the local news. The morning's headline is of 3 bodies that were found about 10 miles down the road from her cabin. A man and two women had died the night before. Instantly Helena thought of her dream. Was it the same people? Did those actual events she had dreamt of take place? As the news reporter continues she finds out that her dream was the actual night's events. What did this mean for Helena? Having actual events take place in her dream? How is that possible? Was this a premonition? Assuming that it is and was, why was she picked as the medium for such paranormal activity?
Helena in the months to follow went crazy. She could not explain why she dreamt what she had dreamt. How she has witnessed those deaths without physically being there. Six months later, she checked herself into a psychiatric ward under voluntary stay. It was to taxing on her mind. She now resides in a white room with noting but a bed and blanket in it. She still has such presentimental dreams to this day, but without TV, radio or any sort of media-based paraphernalia, Helena stays oblivious to the reality of those premonitions being actuality, running from the truth.
