Best read all night, incredible story, glad to see the idiot repo/tow trucker guys getting their just desserts.. I think the idea of a REPO man is democracy gone a bit astray.
It should be as simple as:
1. You don't make your payments? Well..
2. The bank or whoever has the lein on the car, decides when they're tired of waiting for you to pay.
3. They let you know.
4. They let the authorities know.
5. The authorities find it, send a tow truck for it like it was a stolen/incorrectly parked/whatever vehicle.
6. Whammo bank has the car.
Makes sense (at least at this time of night!![[:D]](/images/smilies/biggrin.png "Big Grin [:D]")
), let the real law handle recouping a 'stolen' vehicle. In my eye, if you aren't paying on it, and you're late enough they want it back(having broken your signed agreement) well.. It's not yours anymore, now is it...
I'm all for catching folks that don't pay their bills. those are the same folks driving up our insurance rates cause they don't have insurance either..
Can't own the car, or insurance. Take the BUS, or WALK.
but don't send some dork with a 4 hour class under his belt that makes him a 'repo' guy, out to touch freaking cars!!! Sorta like a 'bounty hunter'..
Something good the officers could do instead of 10mph over speeding tickets???
