lets check the shiping status of my camera.....

CRAP! thats what the fedex door note was for!
i asked 10 day shipping, so it should still be a week before its here, but i screwed up the date on my CC and called in. I guess they bumped it to 2nd day delivery.

What kind of camera did you buy?
This is what i got (i have 14 days to decide if i want to keep the camera or put the money towards a car but I love taking pictures and the movies are damn cool.)

http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=1&b=g&catoid=-8025&qp=0&bookmark=bookmark_4&oid=79151

500 bucks is a lot but the quality is absolutely amazing. I did sell my laptop (wasnt going to but decided i should sell it now when i can get more money out of it than i will if i sold it in 4 months).

If i find a car and can get financing within the next 2 weeks, then the camera will go back.

good god epj3, that is one hell of a camera. and its something more like i would have bought have i wanted a real NICE camera.

But i wanted a small one that i could have on me at all times and have the quality of one of those. I reviewed them at www.dpreview.com which i think is the absolute best best place to get info on cameras.
I ended up with choosing the Canon S45. Its a 4 meg 3x optical, camera thats the size of my cell phone, but with the options of a full size profesh. I could have gone with the 5 meg, which has better quality, but the new canon 5 meg cameras have some image quality issues, which i wont go into here. all in all, 2.5 meg is enough for me, so i thought this the best decision!!!!!!

i will definitely show you guys the outcome of this camera.

ps, ive had two kodaks before, the first was awesome and died, the second was the worst piece of shit i have ever used (too much noise at low light), so i decided to stay away from them this time around.

btw, that "easy share" BS is more trouble than its worth

its one of the bigest bullshit promos i have ever seen. just load the camera driver, plug the thing in, turn it on and you are set!!!

What idiot needs a "craldle" for something thats easier done with a wire.

But thats just me.

Hey XLibelle, I read the website for the preview and I dont understand any of it.........can you help, I just want a digital camera to take pictures while I'm out on the rigs, a spur of the moment kind of picture, of my car of course, then just plug something into my laptop and "poof" I have pictures without spending a fortune......as most can tell from my posted pictures, I would prefer to have one that is dummy proof on the focus, etc........any suggestions.......thanks in advance.......

i have a sony dscp9 and it kicks a$$. the only thing i dislike is not being able to zoom when making videos, oh and im not limited by 1 minute videos, my memory sticks limits me [thumb] . also harley, most cameras auto-focus. if you want an easy to use camera, ive used samsung's digi cams before and they are no brainers...though, i think you should visit your local electronics store and test them out. youll be better off with something YOU like...wait youre in houston, visit Frys Electronics on i45 and West Rd. they have ALOT of cams on display.

yea it feels stupid putting a "prosumer" camera on a stupid dock -- i just plug the camera in usb via the plug on the cam, not the dock. unfortunately when it comes to audio and video products, i'm kind of a "--phile" and i need some decent control. This cam has almost every control the SLR cameras have (35mm anyways) including shutter time, aperature size, iso rating (up to 800!!) and it focuses damn fast.

i want an SLR really bad. REALLLLLYYY bad, i got my first digi last x-mas. (Olympus D550 Zoom). Within 6 months i had 3000+ pictures on my computer, now i think i'm at about 4500, i love having a digital camera. I want to get an SLR for highrez stuff, and then i want to get a CCD telescope for astronomical pics.
