Why intentionally wreck a perfectly good bimmer?
SACRAMENTO (AP) - A Sacramento woman was arrested after fleeing from a California Highway Patrol commander and then ramming his cruiser with her BMW, officials said.
CHP Officer Max Hartley said the black BMW sped past CHP Capt. Chuck Chellew Thursday afternoon going about 85 mph. Chellew, who is the commander of the north Sacramento CHP office, pulled the car over at an exit, Hartley said.
But as Chellew stepped out of his car, the BMW sped off, running a red light. Chellew chased the car at speeds that reached 110 mph before the driver pulled into a parking lot - where she allegedly rammed her car into the cruiser, Hartley said.
The driver, Gina Joanne Smith, was arrested on numerous charges, he said.
