I actually told Theresa to tell the lady (it was a lady) that she should set it in the window so the solar panels will charge it back up.. [:D]
Honestly, it's stuff like that which changed my mind to not continue majoring in networking. I couldn't do that all day!

I'm noticing the patience level here is low.......you ought to hear me talking to my IT guys.....when we first started talking about my laptop going wireless but still had to be plugged in, I kept saying, "but I'm still confined".....they said "what do you want to do, walk around holding your laptop???"......well I said......"mmmayyyyybeeeeee"........they just keep saying "God love her"......there's a reason the wireless card and the router have been in the box for three months now.....[bigcry] some of us have other attributes other than computer technology........you should be patient when it is those times...... [:0]

I have patience for non-technical folks, as I understand it's not in everyone's nature to 'know' all the tricks and whatnot. I service plenty of family members just to keep them online and clean of virus's... [:)]

This person however, works at a very technical level within my IT organization, and should have a better understanding then that - and then some. And it's also pretty classic - another inside IT joke of sorts.. [;)]

This all comes down to the fact that the average American citizen is completely and utterly clueless when it comes to computers and technology. And instead of trying to solve the problem out himself/herself, they just go straight to the IT department with their dumbass questions, and when IT finally solves the problem, the person has learned absolutely nothing because it's easier to be lazy than to learn. People just feel SO overwhelmed when it comes to computers, but computers really are mad easy for the most part.

Who said you can't do that anyways? Setup your wireless Internet on your laptop and charge up the battery. Then when you want to walk around your house, just unplug the laptop from the wall. The average laptop lasts for a couple of hours on a full charge so you have completely free/wireless computer for a couple hours straight (until your laptop battery dies).

I have my iBook with the wireless stuff built-in and the AirPort Express wireless hub in my room. I can walk all around my room using my laptop and surfing the web without any wires plugged in. In fact, you'd be surprised at how many posts I've made while I was sitting on the toilet taking a shit.

Wow, that's a little too much information. You do realize that from here on out, every time I read one of your posts, I'm going to have this mental image of you......

Thanks so much for that. [bath]

Remind me never to buy your iBook from you when you sell it.
