Need For Speed 1: SE!

Does anyone here know hot to make old games work with Windows 2000/XP, I have Need For Speed 1: SE and wanted to play it again, but it won't let me install it, I tried compatability modes and nothing.

How old is the game? Originally MS-DOS or Win 9x?

Install another operating on windows XP.

The game is from '96, it is for MSDOS, but has Win 95 compatibility.

Installing win95 operating system is too much work

right click on the executable, go to properties and go to compatibility, under the dropdown select windows 95, and give it a shot... should work!

I already tried all compatability modes, as I said in my initial post

oh my bad... then you should go to www.gamecopyworld.com or www.gameburnworld.com and see if they have an XP combatibility fix, give that a shot!

Go to the website of the makers of the game. Maybe they'll have a downloadable patch.

I have the original NFS at home. I'll have to break it back out, I think.

Here's a link to an NTFS dos driver. It allows you use a dos startup diskette and still access your NTFS hard disk (read only). Try creating a dos boot disk (MS-DOS 5.0 or later) and adding this driver to the disk. If you need help creating the boot disk let me know and I'll create a disk image for you.

hey thanks, I actually fixed the problem, when I had time I installed Win2k and compatibility mode worked on there!
