I broke the antenna on my Siemens S46 cell phone and it now works intermitently. I am looking at the Motorola MPx220 - http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/hellomoto/experience/mpx220/flash/homepage.shtml

Anybody have one of these? If not, how about a similar Motorola? Or a Mobile Windows OS phone? Are you satisified with it?

Looks like what I want - Bluetooth, Mobile Windows PDA/ActiveSync with Outlook, and MP3 player with SD Memory cards. It even appears to let you use the PDA/MP3 features with the cellular radio turned off, GREAT for my airplane trips!!! Camera feature is OK but I really don't care one way or the other.

my cousin used to have one...awesome phone...no complaints...its really cool cuz you can play videos and music clips with it\

another cool phone is the PANASONIC EB-X300 but its not available in the US, but you can get it on ebay, its a GSM phone...so is the MPX200, suggestion would be to get it on ebay...but both phones are a bit pricey

I love mine! [clap]

What's really nice besides all the "toys" , mp3, wmv, etc... Is the outlook stuff! If your a business person, the win os rocks! Syncs right up with outlook, this thing kicks butt for organization. [thumb]

If you get it, email me benz@wtsbank.com and I'll share some links for software etc.

Hey Spidey, good to hear from ya!

I have ATT wireless, now part of Cingular. I went to the store today, and they were clueless about everything except $29 Nokias. They couldn't tell me if they were getting this phone in or ANY other type of Windows compatible phone, Mobile OS or Pocket PC, like the Samsung. The only thing they could say was "How about the Handspring/PalmOne Treo?" I have a Palm right now, but since I develop software for Windows, it makes more sense for me to get a Windows platform phone.

I called ATT's 800 number. They said they didn't know, go visit a store!!!!!!

Sounds like the classic runaround. My advice is, I know that AT&T (and other companies) have the promotional phone pricing, but if you can find the phone for the same or cheaper price off of eBay, you should just purchase it from there. Once you get the phone, just call up AT&T or visit a local store, and they'll be happy to active your current contract on the new phone (free of charge, of course). I'm only telling you this "alternative" because you seem to be having trouble getting your hands on one, otherwise you're best off going to the store, purchasing the phone, and taking care of everything on the spot.

Kirby,

Check out http://www.howardforums.com , these guys know EVERYTHING mobile.

I'm on Cingular, and got my phone pre-att-cing merge. I bought mine off ebay "unlocked" and flashed with the win 03 os. I heard complaints of the win02 that comes on the phone, so I went for the updated version. I got a 1g sd disc for it too.

On ebay they are going CHEAP!!! That's where I bought mine. In fact, I bought mine the day after they released the MPX220 ( same phone, but with a camera ). I had no interest in the camera, so I went with the the one I have mpx200. Had I bought that phone one day earlier I would have paid $400+ for it. ... but I got lucky and they came out with that 220 and then snagged mine for $150. [bmwdance]

I think you can buy it directly from motorola too. http://www.motorola.com/shop [thumb]

Good luck!

I'm still waiting for AT&T/Cingular in my area to get their act together. By the way, the site that Spidey posted is incredible resource of information. Those guys are MORE passionate about their CELL PHONES than we are about our Bimmers!!!

I have Cingular as well and had to order it online because the stores don't carry them until January. They also carry it at BestBuys if you want to play around with it.
