All I can say is wow! I have never seen so many clubs and bars so tightly packed together in my life. We arrived at NO International Airport at 2:00PM on Friday, picked up the rental and headed towards our Hotel. The weather was just wonderful, warm sunny with a slight breeze coming from the south. The traffic and climate reminded my of LA, CA.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites in the downtown area which was only a few blocks from Bourbon St. This is my first time here and I was simply amazed at the size and beauty of this city. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this place if they have not already done so.

Heading towards the city from the airport.

Making our way through the downtown area to find a parking space.

Little sight seeing in Lake Charles.

Old Capital building in Baton Rouge.

We were on a time crunch so I didn't get to gamble nor the opportunity to check out all the places. I'll have to visit those places when I go back.[:D] What street was the Famous Door and Cat's Meow located on? If it's around Bourbon St. I might of passed it up without noticing.[?|]

I have been there numerous times, it is a wonderful city with much to do. I went to the Cafe Dumont (spg?) for coffee. Also a great place to eat is NOLA's, owned by the famous Emeril Lagassee. NO has the best antiques in the world and low prices compared to those here in the Seattle area.

Cafe Du Monde coffee is awesome. It's all I'll drink. It's not too bad if you buy it in bulk from their website. Averages around $5.50 per can. [thumb]

Bacco is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The service is impeccable and the food was unbelievably good. Pricey, though. [thumb]

BTW, nice pics Tom.[:D]

Oh Yess! The French Quarter is the party place! But one has to be careful though, all my friends who live there tells me to keep from straying off out of the French Quarter. Lots of crime in New Orleans. I've been lucky so far. [:)]

Oh, and there's this place or club near the cemetery (I don't know the name) where they have sex and orgies in front of everyone! I heard you could be zig-zagging your way thru' people in the middle of sex and everything and nobody cares! My friends say they will take me there the next time I'm in town. Should I??? [hihi]

Ahh, good ol' Louisiana. Glad you got to go through Baton Rouge to see the hell hole I go to school in. Yeah, NO is very rough outside of the touristy areas, as in one of the highest murder rates and random acts of violence. I can't wait for Mardi gras. I get out of school all week for it. Should be awesome. I'm glad you had a good time.

In December this year at our annual trade show, one of the vendors was murdered leaving his party on the wrong side of Canal Street.........you must be careful at all times.........besides they stole my car there too a couple of years ago.........

So Cafe Du Monde is famous for coffee? My g/f was there for the pharmacy convention last month and she said the food was nothing special and was wondering why it was "world famous." The place looks packed constantly though. I'll post a pic as soon as Tom helps me resize it.

There was this place right next to it that has really good pralines. Aunt Sally's. The triple chocolate one is oh so yummy.

Cafe Du Monde does not serve food. They only serve coffee and benyets (spelling), kind of a donut like thing. The coffee is fantastic and the donut things are ok if your into donut like things!

She's not really into donuts cept for the occasional Krispy Kreme. And she doesn't like coffee to my knowledge. That's prolly why she didn't like the place. I'm tempted to order some of that coffee to try. Kinda bored with Starbucks and the supermarket brands just don't float my boat.

oh i loved the two times i´ve been there. two time, each time two nights...each time fun. we didn´t care for beignets or coffee though. bourbon was all we needed and we had a lot.
my only advice is not to make the harbour tour with the faked steamboats. it is ugly and not very interesting. the harbour scenery is wrecked and dirty.
