Hey,

I think I ruined my last pair of wiper blades because I was too aggressive when cleaning them. What is the proper way to clean them? Should I spray anything and then wipe? Spray with what, and wipe with what?

Thanks,

can you buy wiper blades in bulk? like say 30 at a time or something? cause i think i probably share a similar obsession with MrE, but i hate when my wiper blades don't work. cleaning them works sometimes, but man, it'd feel good to have a bunch just to swap out.

Do you have the Teflon blades?

When I buy new blades, they usually come with the alcohol handy wipe...to get grease off. Have you tried one of those? Maybe those Armor wipes will work. I haven't tried any of those...but it's worth a shot (especially on blade you may be tossing out soon).

I clean them gently with car shampoo when I wash my car.
Then I wipe armor-all on them and buff off dry. The armor-all helps the blades glide smoothly and squeak-free. (I hate squeaky blades!!!)

I use Bosch Micro-Edge Excel wiper blades. I get them from Autobarn.net and they are by far the best wiper blades I have ever used. They are the quietest wiper blades you'll ever use (you simply can NOT hear them wiping!), they do a fantastic wiping job, and Autobarn sells them for mad cheap. The only problem is that their performance gets affected rather easily by some dirt or some other crap that gets on the windshield. So I ended up cleaning my old ones too aggressively and I think I ruined blades themselves. I have a new pair of blades (same wiper blades, of course) but I have not cleaned them yet and I don't want to go about doing it the wrong way. I know this is such a stupid topic, but NJ is so dirty with its dirty crappy roads and I am always trying to keep my windshield and wipers clean lol. Stupid dirty NJ...I wanna move to Florida once I'm done with college.
