whatever you decide on be sure to get two, with somewhere around an 84mm waist, then put soloman 912S's on them, and get some atomic boots..... oh yeah and some ski polls.

i was trying to figure out wth, then i remembered *gasp "you are a skiier!" [:p]

i'm not too experienced to tell you one way or another, but i'd go into a local, reputable skate shop (oxymoron?) and ask them for help. since most of the guys/gals that work there also ride, they are a pretty good resource imo. i have a clicker binding, but i much rather perfer the traditional strap binding. sure you give up a lil convenience, but it works, and works well imo. my next set will have a strap binding.

as for picking out the brands, i'd get the one w/ the coolest pic [:p] since i think most brands are pretty similar, and are all pretty good imo. i can't get 9/10th+ out of the board, (esp in dinkly landfill michigan mounds..) mind as well look cool w/ one.

btw, i'm actually thinking of going tomorrow afternoon, after the wake of the massive snow storm that we just had.

Burton is a good brand name. Your best bet is to go online and checkout manufacturers' web sites and see what board is suited to what. I'm not so sure if snowboards work like this, but with skis you can choose skis for moguls, downhill skiing, fast, all-mountain skis, etc.

NEVER TURN TO SKIING!!! JK... skiing is kinda fun. But Burton has always been my favorite. If you wanna try skiing go with Salomon, or Elan.... I have some Elan's for the maybe once a year I ski, they are really nice. But Burton is a little more expensive, but definately worth it.

CCS (basically a mail order skate shop) has a decent selection of boards. id go there, pick out a few that intrest you, then go to the local shop and see if they have them, or know someone that does, so you can play with it, and shop for price as well.
