Got pulled over for the first time....

Not only was this the first time I have EVER gotton pulled over, I also recieved my first speeding ticket[chair] I was passing some asshole on a four lane highway. This guy had cut me off and was driving all crazy, so I wanted to get aroung him. I was doing 75-80mph and a ****in state trooper passed going the opposite way. He "supposedly" clocked me at 85mph, when I swear the speedo was at 75-80. The speed limit was 65mph so I got a citation for doing 20 over. He says the ticket will only be about $40 and I can go to a one day drivers school to get the ticket off my insurance. But i'm still ****ing pissed. My parents are being gay about it too[boxface] Uggg... oh well. I guess I learned a good lesson... don't speed, or buy a radar detector!!!

Oh, and on a side note.... I was supposed to go out with my girlfriend tonight for our four month anniversary... I had to beg my parents to let me go, and when they finally said I could go, they said she had to drive.. Ha ha... oh well. At least i'm lucky enough to have a girlfriend that would do that. It kinda sucked though cause I was pretty pissed off the whole time. I was very suprized, my parents ushually don't give a shit what I do. Eh, lesson learned, i'll try not to do that shit again.

Dude, welcome to my world.

I have been pulled over more times in my 5 years of driving, than both of my parents' driving careers combined.

Yeah, I guess it sucks to be you right now. Haha, I bet it felt real manly to be driven around all night, lolol.

Dude don't mind me I'm just intoxicated and acting like an ass.

That sucks, thing is it probably isn't even worth it to get a lawyer to get the ticket tossed in front of the cops face. (especially since the cop was driving? on the opposite lane???) You just might have to pay the $40 and take the drivers ed course $100?? and cut your losses, at least you have a nice BMW...

Thought I would post it here as well as the general car chat so I can get some more feedback. I need something to calm me down!!!

Dude, calm down, take some deep breaths.

You are a young guy, it is inevitable for you to get pulled over and ticketed. I know you're so pissed off right now (I've been there myself), but try to keep your mind off of the ticket. Watch a movie or some TV, play some videogames or something. Things are only downhill from here bro, don't worry about it. Just do the traffic school crap and make sure you get no points. Then all you're looking at is a $40 ticket and some traffic school.

If this happened to me, I would have received a $200 ticket and I would have needed a $400 lawyer (no traffic school here). I hope I'm making you feel better, lol.

Ya, i guess that helps!!! It just sucks. I think the cop said that it would be three points on my license no matter what. Maybe the driving school will take care of that too. I'll be sure and update evryone as I know more about it.

Let me put some perspective on it. In Pennsylvania that would have cost you about $300, points AND you could have your license pulled temporarily for 20+ over the limit. If you are on a junior license, it would have been pulled PERMANENTLY until you were 18. You got off easy compared to most other states.

Not to sound callus, but sounds to me like you got of easy. Here in WA. State that ticket would be a hell of a lot higher and you even got an option for driving school to take the points off your insurance. Many places don't offer this all all. The points on the insurance are worst than the fine and cost of the school. You were speeding and you got caught. The trooper is just doing his job to make sure the roads are safe. Sounds like he was being nice too....
