I've read fairly good things about them over the past few years. I'm guessing that they are fairly accurate, especially when used to compare several runs in the same vehicle to test tuning, etc. That's what I'm primarily interested in.

I think they would be less accurate if you tried to compare two cars to determine whose car is faster. But for this price, it's worth it to me just to play around with.

the G-Tech Pro (the 2nd one) has alot more features.but the 1st is still damn good.BFG ran a special promotional awhile back, and now there are TONS of G-Techs roaming around for business' to buy up,and some ppl are buying them up mad.thats why they are going that cheap.

i heard they are really accurate, but i cant imagine it can be just from a gravitational force reading as minute as what would be needed to determine accuracy down to 1 hp error!

as long as you calibrate them before the run, they're accurate enough.a co-worker took one to the track with him,and it was off by 1mph and 2 tenths from his timeslips.

so, i got my g-tech... much smaller than i ever thought.
havent had a chance to take my car out with it, so i brought it with me while working in my Windstar. couldnt figure it out at first... (i almost never read instructions) but you have to have it completely level. there is no real calibration.
anyhow, my van, loaded up with equipment and junk pulled a 9.47 0-60. tried to not let the tires spin too much. ok, who gives a shit about my van.

but i was thinking, HOW THE HELL DOES IT KNOW WHEN I HIT 60 MPH? then it hit me.
you set it to test your acceleration and it knows when you take off. it starts a timer and the other variable it would need to calculate anything is my rate of acceleration. DOH! in which that it knows! well thats cool.
it can tell the 1/4 mile too if you dont let off the gas at 60. you can also slam the brakes after you hit 60 and it will time your stop. kick ass!
i wasnt about to test the G's. eventhough i have a cage in the back, i cant have o'scopes and electronics flying around, lol.

anyway, well worth the $40! thx kirby for the heads up. it should be a good tool for tweaking my car.
