I was wondering what driving postions you guys use. Where are your hands on the wheel, how far do you sit back. Are your arms straight? How far is the is the wheel from you, how far do you sit back from the pedals?Etc...

i have my seat positioned so that my legs and bum are comfortable in the seat. im average tall, so i sit a ways back. but, my seat back depends on the mood and type of driving im doing. i go from pimp to sit the f*** up and DRIVE! rarely do i use two hands and if i do, they are at ... well who knows. if i had an arm rest, thed be at 4 and 8.

Since I am a lefty... I hold it from the top with one hand when I want 100% control... or holding it from the bottom left (with elbow on door's side) when cruising.

Two positions.........

1. Left foot on metal plate, right foot on gas, seat far back, left hand on left of wheel,
right hand holding cell phone.
2. Left leg under me, right foot on gas, seat far back, left hand on left of wheel,
right hand holding cell phone.

My seats are so comfortable, I just melt into them..........

I think the correct or recommended position on the steering wheel would be 10 and 2 o'clock.
Arms should be stretched out with a slight bend on the elbows, and the shoulders/upper back should be resting on the backrest. You should also push on the steering wheel to turn, that's what the tilt angle on the wheel is for, and not pull or cross your hands.

Well, many drivers do drive with poor habits and wrong positions and techniques. I guess it doesn't matter in everyday life normal driving, but I remember reading from a European rally driver on the importance of proper driving techniques (steering handling, that is) in regards to knowing exactly where your front wheels are facing at any time, as they are sliding corners all the time. If they cross their hands steering like most normal drivers do, they would be lost as to their wheel direction.

Does that make sense?

My uncle is paralized waste down, so my dad built him a throttle and brake hand system, with left hand, push to engage brake, pull to hit gas. since he was steering single handed, a handle on a bearing at the 2 position. Then german insurance gave him enough money, so he bought a bad ass Audi Quatro to pimp. hmmm, that was OT, sorry. thought it might be posture related. i guess it was meant to show, no lower apendages needed.

I love this question !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rule of thumb is, in terms of seat height, your head should be lined up with the middle of the windshield. Your chest should be 12 inches from the steering wheel. Your arm full extended, your wrist should rest on the top of the steering wheel. Steering wheel height, seat and backrest tilt, and lumbar support are up to you.
Personally, I sit with no lumbar support, seat height at close to the lowest position, seat angled up/back just a bit, and back-rest is tilted back just a bit. My steering wheel height is at a lower position, aimed pretty much at my chest but angled up just a bit. It is sooo hard for me to acquire the "perfect" seating position in a car, so when I finally find that special spot that satisfies my 100%, I never forget it. [fake]

I have the seat as low as it can go, and the backrest as upright as it can go. i then engage the clutch and slide it so my knee is at a comfortable bend. i sit fairly close to the wheel. it gives me optimum control of the car.

i sit exactly like frolf. i am 6'3 so i put teh seat as low as possible and thechair as straight as possble bc in non power seats as u lower the back ets more tilted. and hten i adjust teh position so that i can comfortable move my left leg for the clutch and at that position, my right leg always has more room
