It's the martial art where it looks like you're break dancing. You use your legs a lot and it is like gymnastics and martial arts. My brother took it for a while but then he stopped.

Yeah, it's a Brazilian Martial Art. Looks like breakdancing sometimes, gymnastics others. Very different from the traditional stuff.
It seems pretty hard, what was the first lesson like Richard?

Me sweating like crazy. It's like perpetual movement. I just learned teh basic starting movement. That's where you start most of teh moves from. You do offense and defense from that same basic set of moves. From there, I learned some more moves from that basic set like throwing in a cartwheel, various sweeps and roundhouse kicks, etc. Tried to do a handstand and then walk. Class ends with a roda. It's basically sparring. Two people get in a circle and start practicing against each other. Don't actually hit each other, just do the move and pull back at the last minute. Point is just to show the move. It's done at a slower speed than in a real fight. So, if the other person can't dodge at this speed, they wouldn't have dodged it in a real fight.

Hmmm... you learn self defense and get a work out at the same time. Sounds like a ton of fun. If you don't mind me asking, how much are the classes?
