Auto Transmission

OK guys here it is the silly question you've all been waiting for.
Why is the auto transmission selector always in the order of PRND ? A?[???1]

They put neutral between reverse and drive in case you bump the lever by accident.

I can understand that but why go thru R to get to D? hence the question.

Almost everytime you park, you will be backing out from that spot. At least the forward running gears are grouped together and the stop and opposite ones are together.

i thinnk theres alota people who think the other way around. not me tho
what i dont understand is in non german manuals is Reverse furthest from 1st. u never go R to 5 or 6 so why put it there.
