Who here downloaded and installed the new AIM Triton? You can get it from Http://www.aim.com/. I am using it now and it's pretty cool, but it formatted my screen name to "mrelussive" in lowercase (it used to be MrElussive).

No way to reformat and it is annoying, but the features are awesome...free XM radio, built-in VOIP, built-in chat, video chat, etc.

Those mother f)*&#ers at jdennis.net (or whoever makes deadaim) f'ed me over. I bought it like 3 years ago, and then when I went to download it a few weeksk ago it said that I bought it too long ago and can no longer download it. [:(!]

Not that, I had AOL internet years back and they suck, I assume anything they are involved must also suck. They write in destructive code that negatively affects other ISPs and have some serious security issues. But yes I am older than most here, wiser too! [rofl]

http://gaim.sourceforge.net I've been using aol instant messenger for over 5 years now (I don't suscribe to AOL though!!!) All you need to do is sign up for a Screen name and get one of the free non-aol clients out there and you have nothing to worry about. If AOL were datamining or putting spyware on computers, I know I wouldn't use it - nor would frolf or any computer geek out there.

That's with AOL's software, aol instant messenger - even the stuff built by them - is completely different. i would never put aol's browser or anything on my computer. Those links are just talking about the viruses that embed themselves into the client, but the only way to GET those viruses is to be a dumbdy and click a bad link - it's very easy to tell, and is very uncommon with anyone but 14 year old girls who giggle in their xanga's and downloaded viruses into their parents computer.

I agree. I hate all those AIM thingies. They suck up so much time talking about useless stuff. And, Whatever happened to talking over the phone? Or God Forbid, talking to someone face to face!?! Okay, maybe it's just me
