I thought I'd check out his site. But it uses the Turkish character set, which as a rule I don't install any of the foreign ones since I can't read it anyhow!

But the site then comes up totally blank, which means he has no graphics, links, English, etc.

So why did he post his advertisement here? This board isn't crawling with Turkish speaking members as far as I know.

And criticizing Tom for commercial ads is rude, but I think maybe something might have been lost in the translation. It might have been a friendly poke.[poke]

That turkish thing is pretty crazy, I get the site just fine. Anyway great work on the site, I just changed my background to this unbelievably sleek looking silver 318i on a curvy road with green in the background :) Looks so nice.

Great site!

I tried it on a different computer and it came up fine. What the heck is up with my other PC? I checked IE prefs, etc. and couldn't find anything.

The site does look nice and has a ton of pictures.

Kirby;
i don't know your problem but give me time.it's very strange because I DID NOT use Turkish fonts or any Turkish settings. this site has designed in English. what's the version of your Internet Explorer?

The version is 6.0.2800.1106

I get that popup sometimes when I visit foreign sites. When I click cancel, the other foreign sites have always continued to load correctly without the foreign font. BMWALL.COM is the first one to come up blank.

Strange problem.

I found what was causing the problem, with a few clues from support.microsoft.com .

There is an option for Global Language Auto Select on the View-> Encoding Menu in IE. This was turned off, but apparently needs to be turned on. I didn't even know that option was there, so I don't know if it was ever on or how it got turned off. I have a number of development tools on the system, maybe it got whacked when I installed something?

With Auto turned on, I get the Language prompt, but after hitting cancel the page still loads.

Here's the link if anyone is interested:
