It's a nice car, but if I won the lottery, I'd rather build my own car since that one's a bit outdated now. I'd start with an M5 too. Not the new 5 series, but the one that just got replaced. It's the most beautiful sedan made in my opinion. [thumb]

But We are talking about a 1998 BMW M3 Sedan. One of the rarest BMW's on the planet. There are not many of them and certanly not with 29000 miles. I would get an M5 but this M3 is a beast.[poke]

You guys sure this is not just a good cosmetic job sedan non-M3 3-series? ... putting an M3 and a Dinnan logo on it?
By the looks I can see that the guy loves to accessorize the car.... who is not to say that this wasn't an M3 from the start. [???1]

Not to burst all your guys bubbles but that car is nothing special. All they did is put on some extra trim and decked out the inside, nothing special. Even if it was an M3 from the start then so what there are thousands of M3s on the road.

The 30k miles is not that rare either, my grandfather had just found a 98' Taurus SHO wiht only 20k miles, granted its a Taurus but I am just making a point about the milage. Even my Cougar I just got is a 99' and only has 12k miles on it.

The interior especialy is very common, in my friends Silverado I just finished helping him install 5 video screens(rear view mirror, Sun Visors, and behind the headrests). As well as an Alpine Nav wich functions as another screen. There is also a Playstation 2 under the seat.

It's really that rare? I can understand how the low mileage is pretty rare, but the M3 sedan? Is the 1998 model really special or something b/c when I drive around, I see tons of M3 sedans. I think about half the E36 M3s I see are sedans (well, I think they're M3s by the full body kit but ya never know).

Really? I see the sedans rarely, the one I see on a regular basis has been sitting on a used car lot for about 6 months now.

It is a rare M3. You only think you see many of them. And this one for sale is a real M3. Its not a cosmetic. The only thing I don't like myself is that hamann body kit and rims and on the back is a Dinan Logo. It just does not mach together. You have to decide Dinan or Hamann[paranoid]

But it is a nice car and it is very rare. Especially to have in California. Nobody will buy some F**** up one from the east coast roads![V]

It is a real M3 if Carfax is right. I ran the free Carfax check on it. It did return 15 records, which implies that it has been bought and sold several times, or there is a "story" to be told if it could talk.

Carfax also says that it is a V6 - hehe. Could that mean it was retitled? I doubt a BMW dealer would have titled it as a V6. And if it was retitled, it has a story to tell....

Carfax:
VIN: WBSCD9321WEE09361
Year/Make/Model: 1998 BMW M3
Body Style: Sedan 4 DR
Engine Type: 3.2L V6 PFI DOHC 24V
Manufactured In: GERMANY
Search Results: 15 records found in our database

Same here. I think I see more M3 sedans of that age than coupe.

There are a TON of these cars for sale, some that seem like a much bettrer deal also. Here are a just a couple, and you could use the extra cash to put what you want on it. [thumb]

Saw one E36 M3 today. It was a silver sedan. This was in the parking structure of the Long Beach Hilton. Maybe I just hang out where all the rich, conservative folk are and not where the car enthusiasts are or something. When i worked at this one law firm in downtown LA, one of the associates also had a silver M3 sedan. A partner used to drive a Porsche then switched to a Contour SVT [?|]

According to "BMW 3 Series Enthusiast's Companion" by Jeremy Walton, 2001, Bentley Publishers, p. 244, the M3 sedan outsold the coupe in 1997 and 1998.

1997 - 4dr: 4,535
coupe: 3,405
1998 - 4dr: 3,225
convt: 2,876
coupe: 2,661
